hey, so a couple of weeks ago i went with Jo to Port Douglas. i know i seem to be going a lot of places with her, but hey, we get along and she we wanted to go to the same places. if not for her being here for such a short time, i'm not sure if i would have done some of the things that i have always wanted to do. neways, port douglas is 1 hr north of Cairns, a 2.5 hr flight from sydney. it is the tropical side of Australia. it looks and feels like Jamaica, down to the palm trees, mangroves, hills, cane fields, white sand beaches and weather. it was a good relaxing weekend, just the break i needed from the demented old people. we stayed at this nice hotel called Mantra treetops, where everything was set in like a rainforest.
during this trip i got to snorkel in the great barrier reef. that was really cool. i met and petted this huge green fish. it definitely was an experience. all the while Jo was napping on the top deck of the boat...lol.... it was that kind of weekend.on another note. this is my last week in Geriatrics. i'll miss the people i work with but not the job itself. it is very draining, so i'm glad to be done. up next, relief... that is mainly nights and emergency....:) as well as leave...
